Matt Shope has been a Chippewa resident for 22 years, moving to the Blackhawk School District from Ellwood City before starting a family. He has 5 children, one who graduated in 2022 and the other four who are still in Blackhawk School District.
A graduate of Penn State and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Matt has held a variety of leadership roles throughout his career and is currently VP of Engineering at Conair in Cranberry Township. He and his wife Amy are also the owners of Talktime Speech Therapy with offices in Chippewa and Cranberry, providing speech, reading, and occupational therapy for children since 2008. In addition to his professional experience, Matt has volunteered as a coach and mentor, and has served on the boards of several nonprofits and sports associations.
Matt will use his experience and skills to help guide the district toward excellence. He will work to develop policies and programs that promote academic achievement, support for teachers and staff, and a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.
