Liz Smith
Region 3
Since moving to Chippewa Township in 2012, Liz Smith and her husband, Chad, have been proud to call the Blackhawk School District home. Drawn by its excellent reputation, they wanted to be closer to family and provide their two children, currently students at Blackhawk Intermediate School, with a strong educational foundation. Liz earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Marietta College and a Master’s degree in Business Administration while working in higher education at Wingate University. She now serves as a Senior Technical Recruiter for Eaton Corporation, bringing years of experience in Human Resources and business administration to the district.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Liz has been an active volunteer in the community, coaching 3rd and 4th grade basketball and helping with school events like field days, grandparents’ day, and the book fair. She is also involved with Bags & Blessings, a faith-based nonprofit that supports individuals undergoing cancer treatments—a cause that resonates with Liz as a cancer survivor herself. Eager to serve on the School Board, Liz believes her background in higher education, recruiting, and business will help her work collaboratively with fellow board members to shape the future of Blackhawk. Dedicated, diplomatic, and driven by a positive spirit, she looks forward to helping students, staff, and the entire community accomplish great things.
